MEBC is a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (the “IFEBP”). The highly-regarded periodical publications of the IFEBP are available to Members of the MEBC at the following locations throughout Maine : the Portland Public Library, the Maine State

Library in Augusta , and the Bangor Public Library. These publications can be obtained by request at the reference desk of each participating library. The publications include:

• Benefits Quarterly – A professional journal covering development, trends, problems and legislative changes. It includes articles on health care, pensions, investment, benefits legislation, risk management and other vital issues.

• Employee Benefits Digest – Contains IFEBP membership news which includes articles on timely topics, legislative developments and a review of current employee benefits literature.

• Legal-Legislative Reporter – A monthly review of legislative developments, court cases, arbitration awards and administrative decisions of importance. In addition, it reports on Congress and government agencies.

MEBC Newsletter

MEBC publishes the semi-annual “MEBC Newsletter” which contains articles by both local and nationally recognized benefit professionals. All Members receive copies of the Newsletter.

MEBC Directory

MEBC annually publishes a directory containing the contact information for all Members. All Members receive a copy of the directory.

IRS Pension Liaison Group

MEBC sponsors a member to participate in the Northeast IRS Pension Liaison Group (the Group). The Group is made up of a variety of employee benefits experts and regulatory officials that meet on a regular basis. The Group is a forum for discussion of what is happening in the regulatory arena and those who attend are at the forefront of what is happening in the profession. Our delegate provides the minutes of the meetings to the board, and they are distributed electronically to all MEBC members.
